70% Cabernet Sauvignon,
22% Merlot, 6% Malbec,
2% Petit Verdot. The aromatics showcase dark fruits and dark
berries reminiscent of blackberry and currant
along with hints of dusty cigar box. On the
palate, cassis and boysenberry emerge with
captivating spice box flavors and age-worthy
acidity. This is a complex and well-structured
wine that will evolve gracefully over the next
decade.

Winemaker Notes
In 2012 we partnered with Quintessence Vineyards
to plant a 13.6-acre block on the south slope of Red
Mountain. We worked together with the
Quintessence team to transform the site into a
world-class vineyard, sparing no expense in the
design and development. Through meticulous site,
varietal, and clone selection, as well as targeted
vine density and orientation, we have been able to
create a singular wine unique to the Mark Ryan
lineup and Red Mountain AVA. We focus on
highlighting the fantastic character and quality that
make this block unique. By utilizing cooler
fermentation temperatures and slightly longer skin
contact time we can coax the inherent depth and
power from the fruit while maintaining more
delicate and nuanced aromas and flavors. Once
fermentation was complete, the wine was lightly
pressed to barrel where it aged for 21 months in
81% new French oak.
